Light object

The light flows organically over the LIGHT\TRACE No. 11 light object, which is designed as a screen. Two translucent frame elements are inserted into the deep, strictly geometric frame, revealing the magical fibre optics between the finely structured fabric. This indirect source of light compartmentalizes the room and creates a subtle atmosphere.

The two opposing elements are made of a very finely textured, two-tone fabric in black and beige. The upper layer of this fabric is arranged in waves with a thread of beige and is reminiscent of sand being moved by water. The bottom layer of the fabric is woven in black. The fineness of this fabric allows it to be seen through, which makes the effect interesting for the light object. As the fibre optics are each embedded between 2 layers of fabric and the fabric is black on the back, this creates a strong contrast and thus a fascinating depth of light within the object.

Soft lines flow within strict geometry

Each individual fibre optics was worked by hand and fixed to the inner frame. Tension is created by the end points of the fibre optics, which create a dotted line along the upper edge of the frame.
This creates a contrast between the softly flowing lines and the geometric dots that emphasize the edge of the frame. The certain inhomogeneity of the light emitted via the fibre optics gives the screen a magical attraction, allowing the viewer to lose themselves in it as they follow the lines of light on the two levels.

Despite the depth of the outer frame and the size of the screen, the object has an optical lightness due to its translucent layers of fabric.
